A project curated by Salon Bruit

Trion – A single state formed from three atoms of different colours.

Three venues within a minute walk of each other near the corner of Rigaerstr./Liebigstr. in Friedrichshain, Berlin.
A gallery space, a bar with a dark cellar and an old church. This will be a mini festival of sound art, performance and video installations from an international line up of both Berlin residents and visitors from abroad.

Granular outbursts of sound, synthetic paroxysm and DIY approach shape intensive audio-visual performances arranged through a specifically conceived sensor based controller. Field recordings are distorted and transformed into deeply sensual waves of concrete, material sound and pixelated raw images. Influenced by post-apocalyptic landscape, glitch aesthetics and destructive punk attitude, Domestic Violence turns emotional aggregates into therapeutic visions and leads the viewer through an imaginative digital pilgrimage, exploring human / inhuman primitive roots by reactivating dismissed areas of our psyche. http://niochnioszki.net/

Deep inside the molten chambers of a blast furnace, the key of abyss opened its mouth wide and all that was left was unknown kicking and twisting matter. It is to this tune we play. ANY (US) – Abyssal vocals, Koba (FR) – Bended HR16, miscellaneous electronics and Dr. Nexus (BLN) – Suitcase of electronic Chaos. Each member bringing their own expeience to the triad. ANY comes from dance and performance, Koba from instrumental improvised music and noise and Dr. Nexus from soundart, installations, noize and industrial music.

‘Pauses in Temporal Current’ is a group exhibition that investigates our experiences of time and space from a variety of perspectives.

Augustine of Hippo (AD 354-430), one of the first philosophers to directly address time, commented “What then is time? If no one asks me, I know what it is. If I wish to explain it to him who asks, I do not know”. Is time constitutive of existence or is it possible to exist outside of it? At our quotidian level, do we experience it as a flow? We can understand time as the past, the present and the future. But, the future does not exist yet, the past no longer exists and the present takes up no time at all, so how then are we to approach or understand time?

Utilising media, sculpture and performance ‘Pauses in Temporal Current’ explores speeding up, slowing down looking closer and getting lost.
