Whatever your form or genre, SciTalk welcomes you. And if you’ve got this far you are obviously interested in Sci-art and the collaborations it can develop and nurture.

You may find it interesting to consider the following questions:

• Do you enjoy reading scientific texts?
• Are scientific diction and images fascinating to you?
• Have you got an idea for a book/play/poem that includes a scientific subject or a character who is a scientist?
• Are you a writer who almost became a scientist?
• Would you be interested in meeting scientists who, like you, are passionate about collaboration?
• Have you got a particular interest in people from other walks of life and do you use the experiences of others to broaden and inform your own work?

Making the Most of SciTalk

You need no longer fear the apparent mystique and impenetrability of science, worry about getting the facts wrong or have to resort to a cliché for a scientist character. Here there are scientists for every occasion and every character. Science can be individual or collaborative: scientists may be based in a laboratory, an office or a tent out in the wilds. The specialist scientific language can be exciting, the images are extraordinary and the workplaces offer a wealth of different settings and scenarios.

Enjoy discovering more and putting your discoveries to good use in your work. Here you will find scientists, both men and women, who range from technicians, postgraduate research assistants and research group leaders to academics, bioethicists and those working for commercial organisations.
