My research interest are two-fold: the role of bacterial toxins in disease, and the development of genetically-engineered bioluminescent proteins to study chemical processes in live bacteria and human cells. We have also made some revolutionary discoveries about lactose intolerance that can affect millions of people world-wide. We believe this is the illness that affected Charles Darwin for 40 years.
