Find a symbol, icon, visual marker or symbolic structure in the city. Pick something that has at least 5 instances within the city – and walkable distance between them. Imagine what links these signs and symbols – map them (on Google Earth for example) and post online for the class.

The Invader:
The worst invasive characteristics occur in disturbed sites, especially if the disturbance is continued or repeated. Typical areas invaded are, urban wastelands, railways and building sites.

Stroll the city in order to experience it, as a detached, gently cynical observer.
A passive figure, who observes the dynamics of the city from a disengaged point of view. Baudelaire called the flâneur ‘a botanist of the sidewalk’.
