Anthropology and Ethnography in Art Learning and Reserach
Tim Ingold (2013) points out that the different learning process in the art based on the vision of anthropology and ethnography in the art world. Former express that the learning based on the study and research experience in the real time, which means learning directly form others and the process and experience of learners and educator are generated at the same time. On contrast, the learning in the vision of ethnography that focus on the documentation which educator record about his work process and experience, which more likely a indirect learning methods, the material the learners learn is about the previous experience of educators.
Now, i self-questioning about the whether the way i learning is more likely to use the way, and the answer is ‘Yes’. When we trying to do a art work, we more likely to choose the things which can reflect our statement and the truth become not that important. This is way that we are doing now. Although as the Tim Ingold (2013) said that he not try to against the ethnography, it is important to note that anthropology is fundamental interact of the real experience and continue to exploration and development in a particular art area. In addition, that i found that when we choose the information for achieve our statement or project, when it finished, and we more likely to forget it immediately that is the ‘post truth’ bring to us. Therefore, i am thinking about that whether like the perspective from Tin Ingold (2013) the vision of anthropology can be a dynamic of continue learning still we find the real truth, rather than we use information based on our emotion and statement which can achieve self-satisfaction in a short period but without meaning.
