Media in Public – EX4A&B- Sound walks and fake ambiences

ASSIGN EX4A: Sound walk: Go on a sound walk with a portable audio recorder. Record the audio of an environment familiar to you for no more than 5 minutes. Try and avoid editing, and post the result to you blog for in-class listening.

I was in Roubaix, a small town close to Lille, to work on the sound editing of a short movie. So I couldn’t focus on the city of Newcastle, or in anything familiar.
As it was a kind of really weird period, and I will not explain the reason, I have been only in studios for all the time there.
I made these sound walks on the last day, when I was leaving for the Airport, in Paris.
They aren’t proper sound walks, actually I don’t walk in two of these three recordings, and when I am walking I am doing it by a tapis roulant.

Everything was recording using an iPhone, with the internal mic. So don’t expect big quality, I am sorry.

This first recording was made in Roubaix. I don’t like to put the description but I think you can guess it.

The same is for this second recording, that was recorded at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (this could be considered as responding the B part of the assignment).

This third one left me really surprised and amused. Try to guess where I was, please.
